I hope I am not exaggerating here but in my 2 years experience with Wordpress I must have used over a 100 different Wordpress plugins, each with unique feature and functionality but unfortunately none were focused on security. WP Security Scan is a Wordpress plugin that provides a lot of features based on security. The plugin scans your WordPress installation for security vulnerabilities and suggests corrective actions.

The security dashboard will also alert you if you need to upgrade your Wordpress version, if your MySQL database is vulnerable to remote attacks or if your htaccess file is not in the right directory and etc.
