Since Twitter has shut-down the Jabber service, users can no longer update their Twitter status through Google Talk in Pidgin and have to unwillingly use Twitter Clients for Ubuntu for this purpose.
Though such clients are good and useful but updating Twitter status through Pidgin has its own ease and fun.
IceHot shares a very useful plugin for Pidgin known as Pidgin-Microblog which allows user to post updates to Twitter even without using the Jabber service. This way you can stay connected to your followers anywhere, anytime on Ubuntu.
The plugin also works for Pidgin on Windows. To download and install for Ubuntu Linux, simply use the deb package.

The ping.fm IM bot also acts an IM client for twitter.
This helped me! Thanks
