The rumors are high in the air today that Apple plans to release the iPhone OS 2.2 update on Friday, November 21, 2008. The beta for the update has been around in two flavors for some time now, and unlike the previous update, there are a number of new features coming our ways.
Gizmodo broke the news today citing a very reliable source that Apple plans to release the update sooner than we expected. But the major question here is that what would be new in this update? and more precisely, will it be easy to break in to?
As confirmed from the betas, some of the new features would be Google Street View, Walking Directions, Podcasts over the air, AppScores and some more. But one of the main updates everyone was looking forward to was Copy/Pasting. According to the rumors, the feature just might make it to the final version of the update, though in a limited form.
As far as Jailbreaking is concerned, we have learned from history that it now usually occurs within 48 hours of an update at max. And for those who are wondering whether the update would be free, you are advised to check back on Sizlopedia once the update is available. The update might be released for the iPhone and the iPod Touch simultaneously so those of you who have the cellular-less version of the device also get ready.
