A couple of days ago a wave of massive malware attacks originated around the Internet which could allow a third-party entity or a hacker to gain access to your Windows machine. Unsurprisingly, a security loop-hole in IE served as the primary channel of compromise for these attacks.
The IE security vulnerability, also known as 'Zero-Day', is graded highly critical and has been taken care of thanks to an emergency patch released by Microsoft for IE users. Popular websites are being accused of injecting the security vulnerability into users' machines.
Users are advised to install the patch immediately to ensure the safety and stability of their virtual data.
While this is not the first time Microsoft has discovered a highly critical security flaw in IE, the fact that IE still holds the greater percentage of the browser market share makes this scenario even more interesting.
We highly recommend our readers to use Firefox 3, Opera, Chrome or Safari as they are the most secure web browsers compared to IE and even provide more unique and interesting features.
