I downloaded the ipsw file and when I try to restore on my mac the latest version of itunes 8.2 says that the firmware file is not compatable. Is there any way to make this work on mac? I read that that’s only for PCs

This is awesome and my friend has an iPhone, but not an Apple iPhone (some local market phone).. and it doesn’t have any firmware upgrade feature (saves a lot of time)
