Verizon Wireless has set a date with Skype and will be launching the Instant Messaging app on 25th March. What this means is now all Verizon users with data plans and compatible handsets will be able to download Skype and use it for related purposes.

Starting from Thursday, Skype Mobile will be available for nine handsets which includes Motorola Droid, Droid Eris and Blackberry handsets. Using the app, users can make:
- Free Skype to Skype calls.
- Call landline and cell phones number on low rates
- Send Instant Messages.
- Low rates international calls.
The app will be made available automatically for certain handsets while others will be required to make an effort to download this pretty useful app.
