This news will definitely blow out the minds of all iPhone, iPod Touch and would-be iPad owners out there, but Geohot has confirmed that an Unthered Jailbreak for the iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2nd and 3rd Generation is already in the works and will soon be available.

The jailbreak is all software based, and is as simple to use as blackra1n. It is completely untethered, works on all current tethered models(ipt2, 3gs, ipt3), and will probably work on iPad too.
The genius even goes as far as putting an iPod Touch to demo in a Unthered Jailbreak test video which can be seen below.
