Today, Google announced at the Google Talk Blog that it will be introducing a File Transfer feature to Google Chat on iGoogle and Orkut.
The interesting part of the announcement is that Google has promised to bring this feature to Gmail Chat soon as well which would make IM'ing more fun and social. Here is what they have to say about it:
This feature is also compatible with the file transfer functionality in the Google Talk downloadable software, so you can share files directly from the web with folks who use the desktop version.
All the user would have to do is start a conversation and click on "Send a File..." in the Actions menu. This feature will be cross-compatible with Google Talk.
