Seems like this year we might be witnessing updates in gadgets related to the tablet world. One after the other, tech companies are launching their own brain child after the successful launch of iPad and the amount of units sold HP has planned to tag up and be one of the first rival against Apple's iPad. Today, Google announced to enter the competition of Tablet PCs with the company in talks with HTC to develop their first tablet computer.

HTC has past experience in designing the mobile phone's which run Google's Android Operating System. Looks like Google is comfortable with HTC when designing any piece of hardware.
Development of the first Tablet PC from Google is confirmed as the announcement was made public on the company's official blog. Google's CEO Eric Schmidt announced the upcoming Google Tablet PC at a party. He told that the gadget would be 'an e-reader that would function as a computer'. Someone was even heard questioning Schmidt that whether the Tablet PC would use Android or Google Chrome as the OS, but no comment was their to furnish an answer.
The internet search giant is also engaged and working along with several hardware manufacturers and is hoping is to launch its own Apps marketplace.
Google's tablet would be the only gadget to bring up a real challenge for Apple's iPad. The word powered by Google is all a user needs. Services offered by the company are surely unmatched. The other thing which makes Google strong is the open atmosphere, where developers can design softwares and make it public.
