The Android fever has reached Puma which isn't known for its mobile phone devices. Sources report that Puma's first Android Phone is slated to launch in 2011. Sagem will be manufacturing the device which will be called Puma Phone 2.

Unfortunately, not a lot has been said about the device in terms of the specs. But what is known is that it will be running Android with some innovative customizations from Puma itself with a few sportsman specific apps such as  pedometer and a bike speedometer. To top that the mobile phone will enable users to access  social networks, keep themselves updated with the latest news and of course do shopping, via their cloud platform. The phone is targeted to be a cheap and affodable one.

Speaking about Sagem, the manufacturers have expressed intentions to bring Android as the replacement for their current mobile OS. It remains to be seen how much impact will the Android market see on Puma's entry into the open source mobile domain.
