Mac users now rejoice! Apple has launched FaceTime for Mac and check out the best part, a beta version is available for download, today!. FaceTime for Mac does not only allow you to make video calls to other Macs, but to the 4 million FaceTime-enabled iPhone 4 and iPod touch users.
To make FaceTime calls, You use your Mac's Address Book and make calls right from the app. Once you’re on the phone with them, a simple video window shows them in either landscape or portrait mode, depending on how they’re orienting their device. If your chat counterpart is in portrait or landscape the display automatically adjusts, and you can also go to full screen.
Whenever someone tries to reach you, the call rings through on every Mac you own even if FaceTime isn’t running. So you never have to worry about making yourself available. If you don’t want to receive calls, just turn FaceTime off in Preferences.
The beta version of FaceTime for Mac may have some bugs, and it is not yet known when the non-beta version will finally be released. However, the beta version is live now, and can be downloaded via Apple.
