All you would-be farmers rejoice! Zynga, the maker of its popular Facebook farming game, FarmVille  has finally released an official iPad version which looks exactly like the iPhone version, but with a tad better looking graphics. Absolute convenience for those who have been playing FarmVille elsewhere, as they can now continue to tend to their fields on the Apple iPad. Users who are new to the game can start a whole new farm within the app.

As it has previously been mentioned, that the iPad version of FarmVille looks a lot like the iPhone version, so just like on the iPhone, you have limited access to certain functions on your farm, you can easily plant and harvest crops, decorate farms and also visit your friends, but those little extras such as creating items in crafting building or sending pigs to hunt for truffles can not be done. Nevertheless, FarmVille is played by more than 60 million people worldwide and Zynga players receive more than 500,000 gifts in the game daily. The game has been a phenomenal hit. Looks like Zynga hopes to grow more via the iPad. To alert the users on the status of crops, they can get iPad notifications, which make farm management a whole lot easier, also the relatively large size of the iPad screen helps players to easily zoom in and out to view different plots of land.

Steven Chiang, President of Zynga said:

We want to reach people wherever they want to play the games they love, and deliver the most fun and social experience on every platform. The iPad is a spectacular gaming device, and the new FarmVille app leverages its larger touch screen interface and enhanced graphics. FarmVille on the iPhone was an instant hit and now we are giving people another Apple device to play on.

Like FarmVille for iPhone, the iPad version has support for Apple’s Game Center. FarmVille for iPad or FarmVille HD can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
