We all know that the Windows Phone has finally been release to the consumers and looking at the hype that surrounds it, it can be safely said that the Windows Phone would receive a tremendous response, so for that purpose, we expect a good deal of development in the app sector as well. To compliment the Windows Phone, Twitter has launched its official app, called Twitter for Windows Phone and is available right now for all Windows Phone 7 devices.
What's exclusive to this particular app is the user interface called Metro, which is a unique way of looking at the information on screen using Pivots, which serve as pages for the app. The mobile product manager of Twitter, Leland Rechis wrote:
Pivots allow you to swipe left or right to view different categories or types of information within a single application. For example, in Twitter for Windows Phone, you can swipe left or right to move from your timeline to mentions to direct messages
It was only earlier this month that the Windows Phone 7 was finally rolled out for the general masses, although Twitter wasn't in the pre-launch development partners which included Seesmic, Foursquare, Netflix etc. We can expect a lot of third party apps for Twitter to be developed for the Windows Phone, but the unique UI and the layout specifically is something that just might set the official Twitter for Windows Phone apart from the rest.
