Yesterday, we reported that the iPhone Dev-Team had finally launched their ‘backup plan’ untethered jailbreak for the iOS, Redsn0w 0.9.7 beta 1, using which iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and iPad owners could untether their iOS 4.2.1 jailbreaks. However, there was a slight problem with beta 1 of Redsn0w 0.9.7, and it was the native app crashes which made applications like Youtube, iPod and even Task Switcher unusable after the jailbreak had been untethered. However, that problem has now been solved. Now available, is Redsn0w 0.9.7b2 !

The iPhone Dev-Team announced via their Twitter account, which was specifically set up for testing of the new version of Redsn0w, @redsn0w_testers, the release of beta 2 of Redsn0w 0.9.7, here’s what they said:
The second beta is now available (testers ONLY please!). This version should fix all the native app crashes (including Task switcher). That’s the only change in from beta1….Bluetooth is still disabled.
Please note that there is no change whatsoever in the actual jailbreak untether method, so if you still haven’t tried Redsn0w version 0.9.7 to untether your iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak, however do keep in mind that this is currently only able to be done through a Mac machine, download the beta 2 from here, and let us know how it went in your comments below.
